Kristin Richards, RMT graduated from the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in 2005. Upon completing her registration she worked in New Zealand for a year before returning to BC and began practicing massage therapy at Broadway Wellness and Pomegranate Midwives in Vancouver, later from her home in Nakusp, and currently offers treatments in her clinic situated between UVic and Cadboro Bay.

As a trauma-informed therapist in training she believes, with the proper support, our bodies and nervous systems have the wisdom and inate ability to heal. She gently encourages curiosity of what the sensations in our body are trying to tell us and how we can all be an active participant in our healing journey. Kristin approaches each individual with compassion and reverence to our deep connection to our physical body and our mind.

With the birth of her son in 2011 and her daughter in 2014 it gave her a great appreciation for massage therapy as necessary support during and especially after pregnancy. When Kristin isn't with her treatment table, she's cycling with her family around Victoria, playing soccer, or experimenting with a new Smitten Kitchen recipe.

Somatic Experiencing® method is a body--oriented approach to the healing of trauma and other stress disorders. It is the life’s work of Dr. Peter A. Levine, resulting from his multidisciplinary study of stress physiology, psychology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, indigenous healing practices, and medical biophysics, together with over 45 years of successful clinical application. The SE approach releases traumatic shock, which is key to transforming PTSD and the wounds of emotional and early developmental attachment trauma.
